“My mother had a saying: ‘Kamala, you may be the first to do many things, but make sure you’re not the last.’”

Kamala Harris is proud to have been raised by an Indian mother, with a deep connection to Indian culture and heritage. Her care and concern for the underprivileged and the environment reflect how she was brought up.
Her biracial heritage, with a Black Jamaican father and an Indian South Asian mother, is a perfect example of America as a melting pot. America has been a refuge for people from all over the world, and Kamala’s background resonates with many in America, where at least 12.5% of the population identifies as biracial. In 2023, immigrants and their U.S.-born children number approximately 90.8 million people, or 27 percent of the total civilian noninstitutionalized U.S. population.
Finally, the time has come to celebrate that Indian Americans, one of the most successful immigrant groups, will have one of their own in the highest office, as a leader of the free world. It is a proud moment, both globally and for America.
We urge you to support Kamala Harris as she is the right choice for the right time. As the world grapples with inequities and disharmony, we need her to lead the U.S. and the free world.
We are a group of proud American citizens of Indian origin who have come together with a shared vision and purpose. Our roots in India provide us with a unique perspective on the importance of diversity, inclusion, and the strength that comes from unity. As immigrants who have made the United States our home, we deeply value the opportunities this country has offered us, and we are committed to giving back in meaningful ways.
Our group was formed with the specific goal of supporting and contributing to Kamala Harris’s campaign. As the first woman of Indian descent to serve as Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris represents a significant milestone in our community’s history. Her leadership and values resonate with our collective aspirations for a more just, equitable, and inclusive America.
Through our efforts, we aim to raise awareness about the vital issues at stake in this election and mobilize our community to play an active role in shaping the future of our nation. We believe that by coming together, we can make a difference, amplify our voices, and contribute to the ongoing progress of this great country.
Join us on this journey as we work toward a brighter and more inclusive future for all Americans.
